Spring Fashions

Barbecues, fireworks, family and friends, unofficial start to summer, and white apparel; what’s there not to love about Memorial Day! To top things off for Memorial Day, the weather has finally started to stay consistently warm making it feel like summer. I always like to pull out my white shorts and sandals around this time of year and take full advantage of wearing white while it’s the season for it.

Shown above I’m wearing an outfit that is perfect for Memorial Day weekend whether it’s being spent in a small gathering with family and friends or at home. I chose patriotic colors given the holiday’s patriotic meaning. The top is made of linen and is perfect for warm days and cool nights with its sleeve length. The shorts are very comfortable and could be worn casually as I seen pictured above or dressed up with a dressier blouse. The sandals could also be dressed up or down making them very versatile and appropriate for wearing all summer long to a variety of events.

The bag is something I had in my wardrobe for a while and I actually forgot I had it. Straw handbags have been making a comeback for the past couple of years and can be used as a go-to summer bag due to matching many different outfits. With my outfit, it enhances the overall look given its contrast with the brighter colors of the rest of the outfit. The frames of my sunglasses are lined with tortoise shell print also giving the outfit contrast while also matching my purse. The sunglasses are polarized protecting my eyes against the sun’s harsh rays.
