Winter Fashions: What I Wore to a Christmas Play

What I Wore to a Christmas Play

I recently had the pleasure of attending the Christmas play ”A Christmas Carol” and wanted to look Christmas festive in honor of the holiday. Given that I was attending a play in the evening, and I read that the dress was ”dressy casual” I wore attire that could easily be appropriate for the play, a night on the town, or church. I also decided to incorporate green, a Christmas color, to the backdrop of black in order to allow the brighter green shade to pop.

The outfit is composed of pieces that could easily be dressed up or down. I decided to wear the vest because I feel that people tend to wear more red this time of year than green. The vest is also versatile and could be worn with a variety of tops underneath to keep warm. The puff sleeve blouse jazzes up the outfit and compliments the chic look of the vest. It also gives the ensemble a dressy appearance without being too dressy. In order to balance the outfit with the “casual” aspect of the ”dressy casual” dress code for the play I wore leggings. Leggings are great for when you go to an occasion and don’t want to be overdressed nor underdressed as they can easily be dressed up or down. For my accessories I wore gold jewelry to compliment the gold in my handbag. To round off the outfit, I wore black booties to match the black in the rest of the outfit.

There’s nothing like getting in the holiday spirit with a Christmas play and a festive chic outfit to compliment the occasion.
